Academic Conference Proceedings

The Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences organizes the ACADEMIC CONFERENCE, an annual scientific research congress, every April for students, master's students, doctoral candidates, researchers, and faculty members. Each branch organizes its own sub-conference, and the best researchers selected from branch conferences participate in the unified congress. In 2026, the 68th ACADEMIC CONFERENCE is being organized.

Agenda

Approve doctoral dissertation topics, methodologies, and supervisors; conduct progress reviews; and hold thesis defense hearings for master's degree candidates in accordance with the MNUMS "Regulation on Graduate Training Activities"
Discuss amendments to the Constituent Academic Council regulations and submit recommendations to the MNUMS Academic Council
Discuss and provide recommendations on the constituent school's development policy, strategic plan, policy documents, and programs
Approve priority research directions for the constituent school
Discuss the constituent school's curriculum, programs, and standards, and submit recommendations to the Program Committee
Review the constituent school's activity reports, provide evaluations, define future goals and directions, and make recommendations
Determine directions for collaboration with foreign universities and research institutions, and discuss and provide recommendations on establishing agreements
Discuss and decide on awarding MNUMS "Honorary Doctor", "Honorary Professor", and "Visiting Professor" titles in accordance with the relevant regulations, and submit to the Academic Council
Discuss and decide on awarding MNUMS "Professor", "Associate Professor", and "Clinical Professor" titles in accordance with the "MNUMS Academic Title Awarding Regulation", and submit to the MNUMS Academic Council
Discuss and decide on works nominated by professional departments for the Best Academic Work Award, and submit recommendations to the MNUMS Academic Council
Propose collaborative research projects with MNUMS School of Science, Technology and Innovation, government agencies, private sector organizations, and NGOs; conduct project progress reviews and evaluations; and submit recommendations to relevant departments

Central Asian Journal of Medical Sciences

International peer-reviewed professional journal

The Central Asian Journal of Medical Sciences (CAJMS) is the official English-language journal published under the Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences. Founded in 2015, the journal is indexed in Dimensions, DOAJ, and Google Scholar. It is peer-reviewed, and accepted manuscripts are published immediately on the MongoliaJOL platform (online first). Each article is assigned a DOI, and works published with an ORCID are linked to the author's profile. The journal publishes 4 issues per year, accepts submissions year-round through its online system, and conducts peer review electronically. Over the past 5 years, 73% of submitted manuscripts have been published, with an average review turnaround of approximately 85 ± 12 days across 3 review types.

MNUMS Research Ethics Committee

The Research Ethics Committee reviews and approves research applications from MNUMS researchers (excluding new drug clinical trials) and issues conclusions in accordance with applicable regulations. Applications are accepted until 17:00 on the Tuesday of the 3rd week of each month. A committee meeting is held that Friday, decisions are communicated to researchers by the Wednesday of the 4th week, and if revisions are required, they are accepted within 2–4 days. Final resolutions are published on the MNUMS website before the 28th of the month.
