The Graduate school of MNUMS offers 11 programmes approved by the order of the Minister of Education and Science of Mongolia No.A/146 "Approval of name and indexes of programmes".

On-Campus master’s programme - The programme spans for 2 years (each academic year consists of 2 semesters).

Regulation of the Programme:

  • The academic year of master and doctoral studies consists of 2 semesters, spanning 16 weeks.
  • Upon the request of the student who did not graduate on time due to the pre-approved reasons, the student can be considered for a one-year extension of graduation (one time) by the professional department, with the decision of the Division of graduate education policy and management.
  • If students are transferred from other accredited programmes, it is possible to transfer the previously earned credits.
  • The research topic and thesis must not be duplicated with other Master's or Doctoral thesis.
  • During the study period, the students must achieve a score of 70% or higher to be considered as complete.
  • The research topic, methods, a supervisor and an advisor, should be approved by the professional department.
  • On-Campus master's students should be assigned with a supervisor and an advisor by the professional department.
  • Ethics approval for the research must be obtained by submitting a request to the Research Ethics and Control Committee of MNUMS.
  • Progressive review of research proposal: Organize discussion with professional experts to review the research proposal.
  • Publish 2 research papers: Students must publish at least 2 research papers at the official Journal of MNUMS Health Sciences or other journals.
  • Participate in a scientific conference (2 times): Students will present the research findings at academic conferences.
  • Thesis will be written based on the research findings.
  • Preliminary Defense: Organize a preliminary oral defense with at least 7 professional experts to review the research results.
  • Final Defense: The thesis will be presented at the final oral defense consisting of the 11 members of the academic council approved by the Rector of MNUMS. Over 75% of the council members should approve to pass the final defense, according to the blind vote.
